William Daniell was born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. Daniell was an English landscape and marine painter as well as printmaker best known for his work in aquatint. He and his uncle, Thomas Daniell, traversed India and published the well-known work, Oriental Scenery. Later, Daniell traveled the coastline of Britain, painting watercolors for his book A Voyage Round Great Britain. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution later earning him an appointment as a Royal Academician in 1822.
Condition: Overall the engraving is in very good condition. Toning as expected due to age. Mild foxing along the sides of the engraving. Engraving is unevenly cut along the bottom. Overall paper is healthy and the colors are vibrant.
