About Our John James Audubon Prints

The images in our Audubon Collection are created using a very high-resolution scan from an original Engraved and Coloured print by Robert Havell. Each vintage print is professionally conserved to restore the print to its original appearance and fidelity. Using pigment-based Canon LUCIA inks, to ensure archival stability, this restored  image is then printed onto Pura Velvet 310 gsm, a mould-made, 100% rag, acid-free paper produced in the U.S.A. by Breathing Color. The print longevity for Pura Velvet fine art media exceeds ISO 9706 museum grade standards that have been developed to meet galleries and museum's longevity requirements. Pura Velvet was tested by the world's leading independent print permanence testing laboratory .Pura Velvet was tested by a UKAS accredited independent print permanence testing laboratory, for longevity testing to meet the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) standards for fine art papers.

This extensive process ensures that each image is skillfully created to the original intent of John James Audubon.

IStockHistory Editions reinforces the importance of protecting prints and insists on the fact that a print intended for long-term display should be professionally framed under uv glass to protect it on a permanent basis.
